PELUM Zambia
Participatory Ecological Land Use Management (PELUM) Zambia is part of a wider PELUM Association network found in East and Southern Africa. Established in 1998 as a member-based civil society organisation. Kasisi Agricultural Training Centre (KATC), Zambia
KATC aims to empower rural communities to improve their livelihoods and facilitate holistic and democratic rural development through training, extension, research, market development, lobbying and advocacy and appropriate technologies in sustainable organic agriculture. www.katzczm.org. Kusamala Institute of Agriculture and Ecology (KIAE), Malawi
KIAE is an NGO that promotes agroecology systems in Malawi through demonstration, consultation, education, outreach and advocacy. Since its inception in November 2009, it has grown from a demonstration plot established during the 9th International Permaculture Conference to a local NGO operating in four districts and leading training and consultancies nationwide. https://kusamala.org. Soils, Food and Healthy Communities (SFHC), Malawi
SFHC, a non-profit organisation, works with more than 6 000 farmers in more than 200 villages in Northern and Central Malawi. It is a participatory project, in which farmers work together and exchange knowledge to improve soil fertility, food security and nutrition. https://soilandfood.org/. Namibia Nature Foundation
The Namibia Nature Foundation is Namibia’s leading conservation and sustainable development organisation. The NNF promotes sustainable development, the conservation of biological diversity and natural ecosystems as well as the wise and ethical use of natural resources for the benefit of all Namibians both present and future. www.nnf.org.na. Namibian Organic Association
The Namibian Organic Association (NOA) is a membership-based association established by a group of dynamic farmers and consumers with the common interest of developing the organic sector in Namibia. South African Organic Sector Organisation (SAOSO)
SAOSO is a non-profit organisation focused on uniting and growing the organic agriculture sector in South Africa. We work to unite farmers, producers, retailers and consumers of organic products to collectively protect the future food freedom and natural ecology of South Africa, and we collaborate with organisations whose strategies are aligned. www.saoso.org. Participatory Guarantee Systems South Africa (PGS SA)
PGS SA is the body representing PGS groups in the country. It is dedicated to supporting the establishment of provincial communities of practice and PGS groups that help facilitate local market access for organic and agroecological farmers. PGS SA assists smallholder farmer groups to harness the economic, environmental and social potential of organic farming in order to develop local food systems that are climate resilient and keep soils and people healthy. www.pgssa.org.za.
